A Cozy Winter Micro Wedding at Artifact Coffee in Baltimore, Maryland

WEDDINGS

As Baltimore wedding photographers, we’ve seen every kind of wedding, from hundreds of guests to just a few! And while each wedding is beautiful in its own right, there was something so special and intimate about Kelly and Stephen’s Micro Wedding at Artifact Coffee. And we weren’t the only ones to notice! Baltimore Weddings featured Kelly and Stephen’s wedding on their website.

Despite getting married in the middle of the holiday season (you know, those crazy few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas), Kelly and Stephen created a warm, cozy atmosphere for their wedding that didn’t involve any holly, evergreen, or Christmas music. And we were in love. They started the day by getting ready at the Four Seasons hotel, hosted their ceremony in Kelly’s family’s church, and finished the day with a family-style dinner at the couple’s favorite Baltimore coffee shop, Artifact Coffee. Kelly and Stephen added so many special touches that made this day feel so unique!

Getting Ready at the Four Seasons in Baltimore & First Look at the Marina

The bride and groom got ready in separate suites at the Four Seasons hotel. Multiple generations gathered around the bride to share stories, advice, and lots of laughter. Kelly wore a stunning pleated gown with the most delicate flutter sleeves. Stephen wore a blue suit and vest with a delicate white boutonniere that matched Kelly’s bouquet.

The couple shared their first look right in the inner harbor. Everyone who passed by cheered and congratulated them, warming our hearts on this cold winter day! We took portraits along the waterfront, then traveled to Woodberry for their couple’s portraits for a classic industrial Baltimore look — a city which has meant so much to Kelly and Stephen!

Intimate Chapel Ceremony in Phoenix

Kelly and Stephen had their ceremony in her family’s church, the same chapel where so many of Kelly’s relatives have been married! This family history made the ceremony so special. Wreaths made of magnolia leaves decorate the chapel door, as a nod to Stephen’s southern roots. The chapel itself needed very little decoration. The stained glass, colorful icons, and wood-trimmed windows created a beautiful, sacred atmosphere that felt perfect for this marriage celebration!

The bride walked down the aisle to live string music, and the church attendant proudly rang the bell as Kelly and Stephen exited the church! The couple waited outside the church to greet their guests after the ceremony. We took family portraits inside before heading to Artifact Coffee for the reception!

Dinner Party Style Reception at Artifact Coffee

I do not think there could have been a more perfectly cozy venue for Kelly and Stephen. Truly, Artifact Coffee is the ideal homey, intimate atmosphere with exposed stone walls and a cozy room for dinner. Magnolia leaves lined the tables, plants sat on the windowsill, and glowing string lights lined the ceiling. A string quartet played as guests arrived. Everyone sat around the table like it was a family dinner. And in so many ways, that’s exactly what it was. Even if all the guests weren’t blood-related, everyone felt like part of the fold. This love was overflowing as everyone ate together, toasted to the newlyweds, and spent the evening celebrating the start of Kelly and Stephen’s new chapter.
