I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Julia and Cameron’s wedding right before Thanksgiving. When Cameron asked how long Julia and I have known each other, I said, “well, I was born first so..it’s been a long time”. Julia’s mother, Cary, was my first babysitter when I was a baby. Cary is more of an aunt and Julia is more of a cousin, so the honor to be their photographer was amazing! 

Julia and Cameron planned a gorgeous Mexican and tropical Thanksgiving wedding…and then COVID hit. Luckily, they found the most beautiful venue in Fort Worth, Texas, called Stoney Ridge Villa. From the colorful mosaic tiles, to the tacos and pan de dulce, we were transported to Tulum for the day. 

After a morning of getting ready with their parties, Cameron waited on the roof of Stoney Ridge Villa to see Julia for the first time. It was such a fun moment of anticipation, Julia climbed up the steps and over the wall to get on the roof. The moment they saw each other, the sun came out for the first time that day, just in time for their private personal vow exchange.

Their ceremony went from dusk into night and kicked off a night of margaritas and dancing until their sparkler exit!

This wedding reminded me why weddings are so beautiful. You’re able to bring together everyone you love to help you celebrate the love of your life. If there’s something I’ve learned, now more than ever, it’s that people need other people and the chance to share together In a beautiful day in celebration is a gift we might not always have. Witnessing and photographing love is one of my favorite gifts in this life that I’ll never take for granted.
