This editorial elopement at the Plaza Hotel in New York City was a reminder that an intimate gathering or elopement can still have just as much sophistication and luxury as a full wedding day. As film photographers, The Plaza details, Jimmy Choos, and attention to detail were everything to us. This editorial, styled by D’Arcy Benincosa, was everything a fashion-forward couple in love with their city could ask for.
The iconic Plaza Hotel was the perfect location for this quintessential New York Elopement. Overlooking Central Park, the Plaza Hotel has hosted world leaders and Hollywood royalty, and features in several famous films (any Sleepless in Seattle or Eloise fans, here?). The French Renaissance architecture is ornate and elegant, creating a grand silhouette on the city skyline.

This elevated elopement began with an intimate ceremony at the city hall. The bride wore a classic Sébastien Luke gown with sweeping sleeves that left the shoulders bare and Jimmy Choo’s heels, styled by Carrie Moe. The groom wore a classic black suit with a bow-tie, demonstrating that simple can still make an undeniable luxurious statement. They were joined by their closest friends and families, who celebrated with them by throwing flower petals as they descended the stairs.

After, the bride and groom returned to the Plaza Hotel, where the bride changed into a white, double-breasted, suit-style mini dress and veil by Girl and a Serious Dream. They shared an intimate cake cutting and champagne toast in their Plaza suite, overlooking the iconic city skyscrapers.
We even set aside time for a quick boudoir session! The bride donned a high-neck lace lingerie set by Girl and a Serious Dream. We were able to capture the perfect blend of sweet and spicy in the Plaza Hotel’s renowned gilded-framed bed.

This quintessential NYC elopement at the Plaza Hotel is the perfect example of how luxury does not always equal excess. Every element of this elopement was simple, but intentional, creating an unforgettable experience.
We were so happy to capture these moments on film. There’s something so emotive about the beautiful nostalgia of film photography paired with the timeless vibe of this wedding. If you want your wedding photos to feel effortlessly elevated, quietly luxurious, and editorial with a classic twist, we would be honored to photograph your love story.
