Studio Family Photos in Baltimore, Maryland

As a portrait photographer based in Baltimore, MD, I am a huge fan of studio family photos. I love having families, couples, babies, and fur babies come get their photos taken! My new studio is in a beautiful old industrial building in Woodberry, Baltimore. It’s such a cool space that is filled with fellow photographers, wedding vendors like florists and planners, creative businesses, and artists.

My studio has lofted, white ceilings, large cathedral windows that allow billows of light to fill the space, the original wood flooring, a private bathroom, and so many different backdrops and furniture props to work with! I love getting creative with my clients with different color back drops and props, but I always love to come back to the simple and clean white walls.

Why I Love Studio Sessions for Families

A family photo studio session is so special! It’s a great option during the winter months and allows families to get cozy, play together, and easily change outfits. A studio session is also a great option for couples or families who might feel nervous or uncomfortable in public. In the studio, you can act goofy, run around, play music, and be authentically yourselves. Sometimes stripping away the noise around you helps celebrate the magic in front of you.

Mini Session Days

Are you on the fence about booking your family photo studio session? Worried that it might be too difficult to get your family together for a full session? I have the perfect option for you! A few times a year (usually in the colder months), I host Mini Session Days. These 15-30 minute sessions are a quick, easy way to have your photos taken. I work with medium format and 35mm film, Polaroid, point and shoot, and even Super 8 film. My family studio sessions are a beautiful way to preserve a moment in time that can go by so quickly, even without blinking.

I always tell my couples and families, if you’re ever unsure if you should do the photos or not, do it. You’ll never regret having the photos but you may regret not having them.

Here, I’m sharing a few of my favorite studio family photo sessions, all on film. Every photo you see was taken within a 30-minute time frame.
